Hey all members,

this month's meeting was hosted by Anthony (with pizza!). Since book club this year seems to be more like movie club, we went to see the new Pirates Movie.

Feel free to leave any comments/thoughts on the movie here, and I'll make a new post in a few days times with everyone's thoughts.

Remember, you don't need to have a Livejournal account to leave comments (Speak like a Leek!), so please, comment away and give me your thoughts!!

PS - who likes my icon? ;-)

dun dun dun duuuuuuun!
Presenting Kitty's thoughts:

I think that, While much of the plot was intricate and fascinating it was also confusing in places. Though this may be attributed to Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depps) apparant insanity. This movie made me laugh and... cry (yes i cried) So good movie all up.Though that bit where Johnny licked his brain was just a little bit wrong.

Ba-da, ba-da!

Announcing me, being me. *hehe*. Who thinks that the icon first and foremost is awesome! Go Leeks!
And onto the movie. I liked it. Got restless watching it, but I think that was due to the fact that I wasn't entirely in watch a 3hr movie mood. The insane Jack Sparrow totally made my day. Ever just wish that you could take all of the separate pieces that make up yourself and make each one an individual copy of what that you would be like? That is Jack! And I loved it, along with the one liners it was just like running into lots of Sparrow's, not sure if that would be a good thing or not.
I agree with Kitty about the brain, that was just a little wrong.
I noted that most of the time was spent doing single person shots, or two person shots, did anyone else? Or was I just imaging that?
Anyways, it made me laugh, which is a plus. It rates high with me, I liked it and amazingly, yes, I would go and see it again. Didn't quite like that it was 3hrs long. Thought that the plot was although slightly confusing and jumpy, it was one that sucked you in so you could disregard the fact that it jumped a bit and that it was confusing, at least till after the show when you go "Whatthe?".
And in closing "She's having a glorious tea party, and you're all not invited!"

parents in front to me had a kid with them! they did'nt stay stay 5 minutes, from the start. with the hangging and all. also when the 2 sides faced off on the strech of beach in the middle of the sea. there was an eletric guitar going in the background. this made me laugh, as the rest is an orkestrial (u know what i mean) feel. good movie. did u wait till after the credits? there was an extra bit. showed 10 years time.
